About Project Life Change
Currently (2008-09 school year) there are between 150 and 200 homeless students and their families in the district; elementary thru high school ages.
The school district is doing what it can to assist them by currently providing each student free breakfast and lunches during the school week, free school supplies and backpacks each year, temporary tutoring and summer school tuition.
What we aim to do is assist the school district by becoming another resource available to these students and their families.
With your help we can ensure necessities are taken care of while the families work to become self-reliant once again.
The LISD area is low on available temporary housing for these families so our ultimate goal is to build a “dorm” that serves as temporary housing specifically for the students and families enrolled in LISD that are considered homeless each year.
Also, we aim to provide more lasting assistance to these kids and their families such as tutoring, job placement, help with college tuition and help with finding permanent housing.

Our Goals
- Raise money for the sixteen seniors that are designated as homeless so that they have the appropriate caps, gowns and tassels for 2009 graduation.
- LISD has a specific list of needed school supplies for each grade. We plan to raise money to cover these expenses.
- Backpacks for students (male and female; elementary sizes through high school sizes).
- Teaming up with Angel Food Ministries to raise money to purchase extra food for these students and their families.
